Prince Edward Island legalizes gay marriage

Prince Edward Island legalizes gay marriage Canada’s Prince Edward Island has decided to follow the federal lead and legalize gay marriage, according to Attorney General Mildred Dover, pictured. Dover said the province has little choice but to go along with recent federal legislation that would give same-sex marriages legal status equivalent to traditional heterosexual unions. “We have said all along that we would comply if the federal government passed same-sex legislation,” she said. Gay marriage in Canada is now legal everywhere except Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.�
