Dick Faisauvale's gay panic defense fails, convicted of murder

Dick Faisauvale's gay panic defense fails, convicted of murder Dick Faisauvale, the 18-year-old student told a jury he stabbed stamp collector Robert Hunt because he feared he was going to be raped. Hunt was stabbed 42 times. He died from loss of blood in his home. Pathologist Dr Jane Vuletic told the jury Hunt could have survived had he received medical treatment within an hour of the attack. The High Court at Auckland convicted Faisauvale and Justice Marion Frater remanded him in custody for sentencing in September. It also came out in the trial that Faisauvale had turned at least one gay trick for cash.�
