10	Paul Walker
OK, so maybe we don’t gush over a guy like Paul Walker because of his acting chops. Still, 2006 was a banner year for the surfing stud; he saw both Eight Below and Flags of Our Fathers hailed by critics. Running Scared didn’t shoot up the same box office, but he wields a gun and takes his clothes off, so you get the idea. Of course, his finest moments are all on DVDlike his washing machine screw fest in Varsity Blues, and Joyride, where he well walks into a diner buck naked and stands there for something like five minutes. Not to mention Into the Blue, which stars a very wet and very shirtless Paul. Seethis guy knows the kind of cinema we like.

9	Andrew Stetson
Andrew Stetson is one of those strange cases on our countdown, because depending on what picture of him we use you wither love him (he’s been to number one twice) or you hate him (and a lowly number ten just two weeks ago). So, we;re hoping to God this old fav we dusted off meets your approval. By now, fans of Andrew know his story. The Canadian born hottie almost passed up a life in front of the camera for a career in construction. Thank God he didnt, because we love beautiful and rugged at once. Andrew has appeared in pretty much every major designers clothing he’s a runway and print superstar.

8	Reichen Lehmkuhl
When Lance Bass announced that he’s gay and that his steady boyfriend is model / author / actor / reality show star Reichen Lehmkuhl, everyone in America seemed to want a piece of the Amazing Race hottie. With his book Here’s What we’ll Say getting a lot of press and solid reviews (and memories of that sexy calendar he did for 2005 leaving fans wanting more), Reichen seems to be everywhere and for a guy who’s spent four months solidly inside our top five, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t finish out his stupendous run at the top where he belongs.

7	Channing Tatum
First he taunted us with school boy fantasies as a hottie jock in She’s the Man. Then he had us clamoring for tights and a dance belt in Step Up! Finally, he turned in an award worthy performance and managed to keep his shirt up as a gang banger in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. Is it any wonder 2006 is the year that truly made Channing Tatum a star. A former model for Abercrombie, Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger, Channing’s next gig is the almost too hot to think about Kimberly Pierce (Boys Dont’t Cry) drama co-starring Ryan Phillippe. I’m pretty certain they Dont’t play gay, but at least we can hope and pray for a locker room scene?

6	Sean Faris
He may not be a superstar yet, but mark our words. You haven’t seen the last of Sean Faris. So what his show Reunion was cancelled and his remake of Yours, Mine and Ours was a bust. It doesn’t even matter that his turn in the homoerotic thriller The Brotherhood II stopped short of being a full on gay experience to behold. The Tom Cruise look-alike (just taller and seemingly more normal) has a new pic coming out in the spring (he stars as a prodigy rugby player in Forever Strong) and a slew of sexy pics on his revamped Web site, www.seanfaris.com. So there’s plenty of reason for you to stay in this stud’s corner.

5	Jake Gyllenhaal
How can we forget the man that made camping oh so sexy in 2006. Brokeback fever may have died down, but Jake Gyllenhaal cemented himself in the gay consciousness for the rest of his career. And of course, more recently, the tabloids have had a field day with his little threeway relationship with Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong (they’re just friends, folks). Next up for Jake? February’s Zodiac for director David Fincher, a look at the Zodiac killer as only the director of Se7en and Fight Club could tell it. Even more reason to love Jake (beyond his nudie scenes in Jarhead)in his down time, he works with animal rescue programs and is a spokesmodel for the ACLU. Smart and studly. How much are we lovin that?

4	Anton Antipov
Anton Antipov managed something we’d never seen before when he debuted on our countdown earlier this year. Someone emailed us his pictures after seeing them on his MySpace account of all places, we posted them, Anton wrote us thanking us for the compliment, and for four months he beat out celebrities like Heath Ledger and Justin Timberlake and ruled the top five. And why not? The Belarus native with a body for days already has a loyal following as a regular model for All American Boys (if you haven’t visited the site, go Anton’s splashed all over the place). The Web has crowned him with the best bulge of the month, the best abs of the month. How about another best? Man of the year?

3	Derrick Davenport
Fitness model Derrick Davenport introduced muscles to the countdown earlier this year, and with no one else with a bod quite like that on our countdown, he held down the top spot a record five times. He dipped a few times, which is why he isn’t in first place going into this vote, but he did win major brownie points for proudly announcing himself as one of our hotties on his Web site and urging loyal fans to drop by and vote. He e-mailed, thanked us for nominating him, and then, Playgirl, the mark with which every hairless muscle stud with abs knows he’s hot, named Derrick their man of the Year. Yeah, that’s a stud worth voting for all right.

2	Nick Beyeler
The aerobics stud none of you could stop talking about for month was hit hard in November, but that’s after four months of near non-stop top two finishes and a following that had folks emailing constantly, asking for updates, new info, new pics. The best way to stay up to date on Nick Beyeler is to visit his Web site, but we’ll give you the basics here. A Gold medal winning aerobics champ, Nick has certainly eared himself a loyal following through his to die for body, brain (how many people do you know that speak five languages?) and, of course, flexibility. Not to be crude, but come on. Just imagine the things this man could do in bed. Discuss.

When photographer Lewis Payton (DNA Magazine) was looking for the perfect guy to grace the cover of his photo collection 10 (referring to the perfect 10), he scored big time when he picked Ryan Daharsh. With the body of a Greek God and the face and hair to match, Ryan is unchallenged when it comes to owning a look. So it’s no wonder his back issues of DNA Magazine or one of the countless shoots he worked on for Abercrombie & Fitch are near impossible to find. Thankfully, we have some killer pics here, so sit back, relax, drool, then vote.

Spanish Gays Abused During Franco Regime Could Get Monetary Compensation

Spain is considering financially compensating gay men who suffered years of abuse due to their sexual orientation.

The Washington Times reports that men like Antoni Ruiz, who was imprisoned after revealing he was gay, may soon be awarded a one-time payment of nearly $16,000 and receive a monthly pension.

“I spent three months in prison,” Ruiz said of the abuse he suffered due to his sexual orientation, reports the Times. “I was raped there and in the police cells and psychologically tortured by both the guards and the prison doctor.”

In order to garner compensation for himself and others like him who suffered through abuse and were unable to work during dictator Francisco Franco’s rule, Ruiz became president of the Association of Ex-Social Prisoners, The Independent said.

The Times reports that Ruiz said the possible approval of the compensation, that would include a pension of more than $1,000 a month, could mark an official recognition of the atrocities.

“This is not just about economic compensation but remembering homosexuals who suffered under unjust and dictatorial laws,” he said, reports the Times.

During Franco’s homophobic dictatorship, gays were jailed or locked up in sinister mental institutions known as “correction camps”. With echoes of the Nazi atrocities against gays, they were given electric shocks in the belief that this would rid them of their homosexual urges. Inmates were forced to watch pornographic films featuring women in an effort to show them a sex life that was deemed “natural” by the conservative authorities.

As part of their nationalist, Catholic ideals, the Franco regime and its Falangist supporters considered homosexuals a threat to the “macho” Spanish male.

General Queipo del Llano, who broadcast to the nation, once said: “Any effeminate or introvert who insults the movement will be killed like a dog.”

The most famous gay man killed by the regime was the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, who wrote Blood Wedding and The House of Bernarda Alba. Considered a subversive, he was executed by a Nationalist firing squad in Granada in 1936.

Homosexuality was designated as an offence under the “law against delinquency and criminals” introduced in 1954. But towards the end of Franco’s regime, it was increasingly viewed as an illness rather than a crime. According to the Independent, in 1968, the psychologist Lopez Ibor said: “Homosexuals should be seen more as sick people than as criminals. But the law should still prevent them proselytising in schools, sports clubs and army barracks.” Jail terms of up to three years were imposed under laws covering “public scandal” or “social danger”.

Gay Torchwood Actor John Barrowman gets married

John Barrowman (Scottish-American actor ) tied the knot with Scott Gill, his partner of 16 years, in a civil partnership ceremony yesterday St David’s Hotel and Spa in Cardiff Bay, Wales. Approximately forty friends and family witnessed the event, according to reports.

Barrowman stars as Captain Jack Harkness in the BBC Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.

There was no comment from the couple, but Barrowman has commented previously on his intention to have his relationship legally recognized: “Our relationship was legitimate for us a long time ago. We have been spending most of our time together. The ceremony is because we have the right to be recognised as a couple. It forces people who don’t want to recognise same-sex relationships as legitimate, it forces them to do so.”

Barrowman wore a kilt to the ceremony in honor of his Scottish roots. Although raised in Joliet, Illinois, he was born in Glasgow.

You may have noticed Wentworth Miller wandering down Oxford Street this week, as he is in town promoting Prison Break. After the harbour CRUISE Wentworth is heading down to Melbourne to visit his sister. Who knows he may enjoy a post cruise dance at Arq?

So the Prison Break star, in town on a promotional tour, can be forgiven for calling it a blend between civilisation and wilderness.

“I wish I could stay longer,” Miller said in Sydney. “My impression (of Australia) is … this cool civilisation sort of perched on the edge of shark-infested waters and scorpion-filled deserts. It’s got this great kind of mixture between civilisation and wilderness.”

Already given the full tourist treatment, Miller has travelled Victoria’s Great Ocean Rd, spotted koalas and cruised Sydney Harbour on a whirlwind visit to the nation’s two biggest cities. But the hunky star refused to enter the traditional debate over which city gets his vote.

“I was in Melbourne for three days,” he said. “I didn’t really stay long enough in either one to make an assessment.”

Miller said he’d formed a strong relationship with his on-screen brother, Aussie actor Dominic Purcell, who left Perth to make his home in Los Angeles.

“If you don’t buy that there’s that fraternal bond, which is central to the story, the whole thing falls apart,” he said.
“He’s like every kid’s fantasy of what every big brother should be. Tall, big, large and willing to kick arse if necessary.”

Prison Break; Season Two will be back on Channel Seven in coming next year.

In Montana the fate of Jacob and Joshua Miller, the identical twins who practice the faith and whose band Nemesis was followed this season in a LOGO reality show. The outcome was, well, what you might expect, according to a statement released by the brothers:

According to (those extremely annoying door knocking) Jehovah’s Witness doctrine, being “disfellowshipped” means that we have been found guilty of unrepentant gross misconduct. Our immediate family is to have limited or no contact with us. And all other practicing Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world are not to speak with us ever again.

Although we are no longer Jehovah’s Witnesses, we have nothing but love for those individuals who have been asked to shun us. We will continue to be in contact with our family and those who truly love us unconditionally as long as they’re willing.

We find it ironic that a religion whose members are asked to knock on the doors of strangers with a message of acceptance into paradise on Earth will not accept two of its own children for who they really are. Our wish for them is one of tolerance and understanding and we send to all of them a message of peace and love.”

Another great example of how organized religion can be buckets of fun, love, and inclusion.
