David and I are leaving for London

After our Civil Partnership two weeks ago (the British implementation of a Gay Marriage), David are I are packing to leave for London. Its a mixture of sadness (good byes) and excitement for our new life in London together. There is so much to do to organise an international relocation from Sydney to London. So many packing boxes to relocate (40 tea chests, 6 dining room chairs, one bed so far)!

Leaving on 9th July!

I guess you are on your way. Hope you enjoy London. My Aussie husband and I recently moved here and the hardest thing to adapt to will be the weather!

But then again, it seems like all Aussies want to live here and all Brits want to live in Australia. You must pass one another on the plane.

Thanks guys. We have arrived to a (chilly) but fun London. I cant wait to get into doing the things I miss about London, especially th Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

One great intangible thing is that our Civil Partnership is recognised. My parents are coming down from Wales (to attend a Garden Party) but taking David and I out for a celebratory dinner.

Its great to have supportive parents and family.

Congratulations on your civil partnership.

Me and My partner gained civil partnership status at the British Consulate in Sydney in July 07. Looking at moving to the UK in the comming months.
