Friday night had beautiful light on the steeple through our window

St Barnabus Church which our apartment overlooks.

We havent been here a week yet, and havent seen much sun. There have been glimpses though - this one particularly looked stunning.

St. Barnabus is a good looking parish church close to Pimlico Road, one of the main thoroughfares that connects Chelsea with Belgravia. The church is noted for having a good collection of stained glass which is best viewed internally.

Enrique Iglesias Gay Scare

Singer Enrique Iglesias has revealed that he was scared before appearing onstage at London’s G-A-Y nightclub last month.

Not scared he was going to be molested, of course, but rather, for some strange reason, that he might get booed off stage.

Enrique, next time you are passing a mirror, have a quick look at yourself.

And try to remember that the gays at G-A-Y have screamed hysterically at everyone.

The fact you can sing is an added bonus, but entirely irrelevant to the proceedings.

“When I went on stage, they were singing so loud I couldn’t hear myself. My ears were ringing for two days, I promise,” he said of his appearance.

Tube bans ‘raunchy’ Gay Times advert

Tube chiefs banned an Underground­ advertisement for Gay Times because it was considered too raunchy.

The poster campaign, which was approved by advertising­ watchdogs, is aimed at celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legalisation­ of homosexuality.

But London Underground refused to allow the image of a scantily-clad male and what appeared to be his partner to be used on the network, arguing­ one of the models­ was in an “unnecessary­ state of undress”.

Another poster with the same man in a less revealing pose was finally approved with the campaign kicking off today.

A spokesman for Gay Times said: “In our opinion, their refusal­ is totally unjustified considering some of the heterosexual­ ads on display at the moment.

“By having a couple in a natural pose, consumers can infer that they are a couple.

“The freedom issue is all about celebrating this fact, and the fact couples of the same sex have the same rights as heterosexual couples.

“The use of naked imagery throughout times has been used to promote a sexual liberation­, and finally, after 40 long years of struggle, gay men and women now have full ­legal equality, something worthy of celebration.” The ­rejected image will be the cover of the August issue of Gay Times, on sale today.

Gay Times editor Joseph Galliano said: “It’s an intimate picture, not sensationalist. The irony is we are using the image to promote our ­August issue marking the 40th ­anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality.”

Armistead Maupin is back too!

Now we are back in London and I was walking down Picaddilly on the way home last night when I was excited to see that Armistead Maupin has released a new book - Michael Tolliver Lives, two decades after the last in the series of Tales of The City.

Maupin picks up the threads of the lives of his most popular characters, bringing us up to date with the erstwhile inhabitants of Barbary Lane.

This week, spanish magazine Cuore will publish some revealing pictures of David Beckham sunbathing in a little white Speedo style swimsuit, in France.
In the meantime… the second part of the special photo session for W Magazine…

The British pres are reporting that the Yanks are taking the mickey out of Becks and Posh as they begin their new celebrity lives in Hollywood. Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa did a bit of ripping of their own, mimicking Becks and gormless (no!) and Posh as poutey.

We’re in London

Well, after a hectic departure…we have arrived (David in the street outside).

Although we have arrived it appears that the summer has not quite made it. Perhaps it is still at Heathrow with the backlog of bags! Its 9 am and only 15 degrees!
