Portraying Brothers & Sisters’ adorable Scotty Wandell, who recently “wed” his partner Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys) in television’s highest profile same-sex commitment ceremony, certainly didn’t hurt; nor did MacFarlane’s decision to come out to a Canadian newspaper last April. Throw in the fact that the frequently stubble-faced thespian is not only smoking hot, but possesses an innate sweetness that caused fans to fall hard for his portrayal of the sometimes hapless Scotty, and you have his recipe for success.

Additionally, in November, Canadian audiences can see MacFarlane play James Nichol in Iron Road, a TV mini-series set in 1882 about an immigrant Chinese woman who falls for the son of a railroad tycoon. The role casts as MacFarlane as the heterosexual love interest — adding yet another actor to the growing list who have proven being a gay heartthrob doesn’t mean you can’t play a straight love interest.

ABC just released pics of Kevin and Scotty’s wedding on the upcoming Very Special Episode of Brothers & Sisters, and we’ve got ‘em for ya. Last time we reported on the upcoming gay wedding finale, Luke MacFarlane hadn’t come forward yet to publicly announce that he is gay. Luke Macfarlane wants a gay wedding

For a while now, Luke Macfarlane has been reported as being gay and in the past, romantically linked (dating) Wentworth Miller. It’s true they are friends, but Luke has taken that bold step in Hollywood to come out as gay. Well done Luke! He is probably shitting himself right now about the media revelation (no surprise I think Luke).

Ontario borm actor Luke Macfarlane is currently filming hit television series Brothers & Sisters in Los Angeles where he plays a gay character Scotty Wandell. If you have been following it (and we havent as we are in London) the season finale is the wedding of Lukes character Scotty Wandell, to Kevin Walker

Speaking in an interview to Ann Johansson for The Globe and Mail, Luke is quoted a saying

“There is this desire in L.A. to wonder who you are and what’s been blaring for me for the last three years is how can I be most authentic to myself - so this is the first time I am speaking about it in this way.”

The episode, which started shooting yesterday and will air on May 11 on ABC and Global, is a monumental step in television culture, he says.

Luke holds ambitions to be married to a gay partner one day (which is perfectly possible in Canada for both citizens and in some states non citizens).

In the interview with Ann Johansson, Luke speaks about relationships and the importance of the person not the sexuality and his personal aspirations.

Just two friends taking a stroll, according to the 35-year-old Miller.

Celebrity gawkers have been buzzing all summer about an alleged romance between the TV stars—especially after they were spotted in Los Angeles donning matching sandals and pants.

During a recent interview with InStyle Germany, Wentworth reportedly was asked about the rumours.

His response: “I’m not gay, but that rumor can’t be killed”

Miller supposedly told the reporter.

“I’d like to have a girlfriend and a family. But I haven’t met the right one yet. “Until then I’m focusing on my job,” he added.

“I had to wait so long for this chance I savour every second on set even if it means 14 hours of shooting a day.”

This isn’t the first time the television hunk has been asked about his sexuality.

In 2006, an Australian reporter posed similar questions to Wentworth, who answered, “I’m cool with the fact that [the rumours] exist.

“This is about fantasy,” he added. “Certain people are going to have certain fantasies. If someone wants to imagine me with a woman, or a man, or one of each, that’s cool with me as long as you keep watching the show.”
